Are luminaires imported from China for supermarkets or car parks suitable?

  • They provide light, but not as required by the FIP.
  • They are highly inefficient. Most of the light is lost outside the court.
  • Their lenses are very fragile (they are not IK10 – unbreakable).
  • They barely withstand dust and water (IP20 or IP40, very low).
  • Chinese manufacturers themselves clearly state that they are intended for supermarkets, shops and car parks.
  • Their photometric distribution is very poor and harmful to players’ vision.
  • Padel requires a product specifically designed for the sport being played, as it has many technical particularities: precision, speed, changes of direction, lobs and constant movement around the court.
